Rhine promenade in the village Ortsteil Gtterswickerhamm, Storchennest House

In the village Götterswickerhamm one can walk along the dike promenade or make use of the gastronomical offers and watch the ships on 'Father Rhine'.
For hikers we recommend the 7km long path via the Rhine dike from Götterswickerhamm to the landing place of the ferry Walsum Orsoy behind the north harbour in Walsum. From Götterswickerhamm there are numerous hiking paths through the surrounding landscape.

If you don't want to hike this route you can take a round trip at the ship pier with the ship River Lady on the Rhine in the direction Duisburg or Xanten.
Cyclists enjoy the beautiful landscape and the river view along the Rhine Cycle Route or the Lower Rhine route.

Storchennest House was originally a windmill from the year 1849. After its closure the grinder, sails and mill hood got lost. The stub was converted into a viewing tower in the years 1924 to 1930. The mill's contours were preserved. It was a popular restaurant until around 1967.
Today Storchennest House is privately owned.
